Bess MTI provides expert services in the area of Metallurgical Failure Analysis. Our facilities include a mechanical testing laboratory and machine shop with state-of-the-art instruments, and our team of expert mechanical engineers, metallurgists, material scientists, and corrosion engineers is highly-experienced in inter-disciplinary failures.

Fatigue, structural integrity loss, defects, weld failures, plating failures, loss of containment and stress damage are some of the problems frequently encountered in our practice. Our team of experts gathers information and documentation concerning a failure during detailed on-site visits and examinations. The failed components are subsequently submitted to nondestructive and destructive analysis using our state-of-the-art instrumentation. Our laboratory results, engineering calculations, supporting evidence and conclusions are then gathered in an engineering report. Expert witness services are an important part of our services to our customers.
