Proof Load Testing
Bess MTI provides proof load testing for material evaluation. Load testing is a non destructive test usually performed on a finished or near finished production part or component. A specified load is placed on a part, either statically or dynamically, to verify that the part can handle a specified load. We can place a specific load on a part and hold it for a specified amount of time or we can bring it up to a one time weight and then unload. We have facilities available to accommodate a wide variety of sample sizes and geometry.
Bend Testing
Bess MTI provides bend testing for material evaluation. Bend testing is a destructive test usually performed on welded or plated test coupons. The part is placed over a mandrill and then a load is then placed on the part, which bends it over a specified radius to a specified angle. The angle and bend radius can be determined by AWS or customer specifications. The samples are then evaluated by our expert technicians and engineers to identify any defects in the plating or weld zone. This inspection can be performed visually or at magnification. Our facility is equipped to handle test coupons with a wide range of geometries.
