Bess MTI performs on and off site metallurgical testing and failure analysis. Our service includes photography and optical microscopy, metallographic sample mounting and metallographic microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. We conduct microstructure studies, grain size analysis, inclusion rating, and heat treatment studies.
Our metallurgical lab also performs micro and macrohardness measurements, as well as a wide variety of ASTM and Mil-Spec chemical, mechanical, and nondestructive standards.
Our services are performed in accordance with procedures detailed in Government, Professional Associations, and Company Specifications. Our inspectors are certified per MIL- STD-410 and SNT-TC-1A. The in-house Quality Assurance Program complies with the provisions of ISO 10012-1, ASME Section III, NCA 3800, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, ISO 9002, and ASME Y 14.5M.
