The physical and chemical properties of materials are critical in design and manufacturing. Products critically depend on the quality of materials selected. Process control and material specification compliance are commonly conducted at Bess MTI.
Physical Testing
Our Mechanical Testing Laboratory is equipped to test a variety of materials, as follows:
- Tensile, yield strength, elongation and elasticity modulus
- Hardness (Rockwell and Brinell)
- Microhardness (Knoop and Vickers)
- Charpy impact testing
- Bend testing
- Peel testing
- Compression testing
- Bond and adhesive strength evaluation
- Proof load testing.
Chemical Analysis
Bess MTI’s chemistry laboratory is equipped with a wide range of analytical tools and testing capabilities, including NIST traceable analyses of metals, as follows:
- Conventional wet chemical analysis
- X-Ray Fluorescence, with on- and off-site capabilities
- Optical Emission spectroscopy with both ICP and spark stands.
Quality Control
Bess MTI also provides quality control services to our customers for materials selection and verification, and evaluation of subcontractor material quality.
